How It Started

I found my way into HVAC through BOCES in high school. It clicked. I went to SUNY Delhi after graduation and kept going with it because the work felt real. I worked at a few companies, spent fifteen years in the union, learned the trade from people who cared about doing it right.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to run things differently. Not faster or cheaper. Just more directly. I left the union and started Bamm's HVAC & Plumbing in Mahopac. There have been roadblocks, especially learning how to actually run a business instead of just doing the work. But that's been the real education—figuring out the systems, the processes, the details that let us show up the way we want to.

I love what I do. It keeps me going. That's not something I say because it sounds good. After twenty-six years in the field, if the work didn't matter to me, I'd have moved on.

What We've Learned

Care for your customers. Not as a slogan. As a choice you make on every job. When you're installing a boiler or clearing a drain or setting up a heating system, you're working in someone's home. You handle that like it's yours. That's what separates real service from just clocking in.

Keep equipment running. We work on boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, central air, water heaters, ductless splits, propane and oil systems, generators. We do installation and repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting, air quality and duct cleaning. The reason we do all of it is because your comfort shouldn't depend on someone else's schedule or willingness to learn your system. We learn what you have. We keep it going. We fix what breaks.

The systems matter. Running a business isn't romantic. But getting the processes right, knowing how to communicate, showing up when we say we will, pricing fairly, treating your home with respect—that's what lets us keep doing this work the way we want to. I started out because I loved the trade. I stay because I learned how to run it right.
